The Services Sector is the fastest growing sector in South Africa. This reality highlights the growing requirement for expertise in the knowledge economy. The main challenge currently is to develop the necessary skills on all levels of the organisation. Van Thinking offers services to assist organisations to fill this gap. In the knowledge economy there are two complementary things that when developed together give us the edge that we need. They are specialised subject knowledge and thinking skills. Because we are flooded by information, we need both of these to - Have excellent thinking skills: Make sense of the information and extract more relevant meaning from it than others do.
- Have relevant specialised knowledge: Have sufficient knowledge to be able to engage the information with a "ready mind". We often need a lot of prior knowledge to be able to make sense of new information.
We offer services in both of these, carefully selecting those subjects that - Bring about disruptive improvement, not just providing small steps ahead.
- Are currently active in research and provide new insights so as to provide you with the edge of knowing first.
We do this because we know time is valuabe for all knowledge workers, and a focus on that which is relevant and add most value is the accelerator in this field. We offer the following types of services: - Short Courses: We offer a viariety of courses in a selection of subjects covering both of the above pivotal areas of expertise. You can benefit from our short courses, fitting them into your busy program.
- Presentations: We offer presentations in any of the subjects we cover. You can make use of our services during your strategic planning days or other events where you want to give your professional knowledge workers, middle management and senior management.
- Directed Coaching: If you are in a position of responsibility and require a knowledgeable, objective coach in any of the subjects we offer, you can make use of our services
- Mentor Programs: If you have employees that require mentoring from an external, objective expert with the necessary experience, contact us. South Africa currently suffers from a lack of skill base, and the use of mentor programs can serve to fill this gap. Some mentor programs can be run effectively internally, but in some instances your employees can benefit from external mentors. In those cases, your organisation will benefit from making use of our mentor programs.
- Quality Assurance of Knowledge Services: There are well-established quality assurance procedures, but those are usually not suitable for knowledge work. We have developed quality assurance for knowledge work (soft issues). That enables you to evaluate the risk contained in results of knowledge work before you decide whether or not to implement those results. Often risks only become apparent after implementation, when it is too late. Our service can save you resources and identify risks beforehand.
